THE SEAL OF THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

The symbol on the cover is the seal of The Presbyterian Church (USA). It is modeled on the Celtic cross with flames representing the HOLY SPIRIT, and the DOVE forming the upper part of the cross. The symbol also incorporates an OPEN BIBLE (representing scripture), a CHALICE (Holy Communion), FISH (healing Ministry), PULPIT (proclaiming of the Word of God), and TRIANGLE (Trinity). In 1985, the 197th General Assembly approved this seal.
